For students getting a credit card could b a little difficult at the start because they don’t have a credit report or credit score. As such, credit institutions can’t really gauge their financially ability. However, this does not mean that you can stay out of the credit grid forever because the earlier you get yourself in the credit radar the better your chances at building your creditworthiness.
When starting out on your quest to get a credit card, take help from your parents rather than peers because most times they know as much as you do. Sit with someone older to understand what you should be looking for in a credit card.
Start with a credit card that gives you some leeway rather than having very imposing interest rates. There’s no need to postpone this agenda and at no pint should you apply for every credit card that comes your way. You really don’t want that many approvals.
Once you have a credit card, it doesn’t mean you start spending more because now you have to be responsible to payback. So, it’s all about spending wisely and making timely payments so that you can build a positive credit report that’ll stand in good strength for you later on.
